"One Supermarket Item We Don't Need"

Points to make to your Senator

  • Vote “no” on any bill or amendment to encourage beer sales in supermarkets and convenience stores. We have more than 12,000 places to buy take-out beer already. We don’t need more.

  • Beer in supermarket sends the wrong message to kids. Beer is not the same as cereal, milk or eggs. Vote “no” on any plan to allow beer sales in supermarkets or convenience stores.

  • Gasoline and beer don’t mix. And convenience stores don’t do as good a job of policing underage alcohol sales as beer distributors. Vote “no” on any legislation to make it easier to sell beer in convenience stores.

  • A supermarket with a food court is not a restaurant. It’s no place to sell beer. Vote “no” on legislation to open up beer sales in supermarkets and convenience stores.
